NASA uses H2 (hydrogen) to fuel their vehicles now!

I saw the same Star Trek episode. Very cool plot. Wouln't ya know that the star was
gonna go nova destroying the man-made sphere just after the good guys barely escaped?

This is not the reference I had in mind though, not the Dysonsphere.
Rather, H3 (deuterium) is related to H2 (hydrogen). Dyson beleives
(fairly recent book) that someone may find a practical way to liberate
and harness this power present here on Earth.
