Mulliken's Tyre is a popular euphimism around Campbelltown - its a reference
to the striking similarity of the Kintyre penninsula and that part of the
anatomy. It's an 'in' joke for those who live there. Guess where McCartney
lives? Macrahanish - about 10 miles from Campbelltown. He'll be familiar
with the local vernacular usage. The song caused much local smirking when it
first came it. When the video made its first appearance on Top of the Pops,
the use of two bagpipe players in the video, one either side of Paul as he sang
lustily, had half of Campbelltown rolling in the streets laughter, tears
running down their faces. From then on in, Paul and Linda were treated as
old friends by the locals, rather than ignored as rich 'incomers'.

Hope this helps.
