=Mr. Bare, that is a mighty fine idea. I'm so poor that I can't pay
=attention or I'd do it myself. Where is this land??? Hopefully at the 98
=homelands council there will be some meaningfull progress made towards
=this goal. When I heard about this I had hopes that this (homelands)
=goal would be accomplished in typical rainbow fashion. By that I mean
="someone just does it". I guess this is important enough so that quite a
=

People did just that in the 60's and 70's. People who had resources set
it up where there was a piece of land for them and their friends to go out
and live on and live off of. Very similar to the way this homelands would
probably start, like a Rainbow Gathering only built with more perminency
in mind.

I see homelands popping up everywhere, like the four corners tribe
would get a site, then NERF, then SCROLL, etc, etc.

The communes of the sixtys weren't very successful, as such. Where
everything was supposed to be held in common, people held on to
private staches. Sometimes the person with the resources had a
change of heart after a couple of years and kicked everybody off the
land, forcing them to leave behind, with no reimbursment, what they had
labored to make of the land, i.e. buildings, gardens, wells, etc.
Sometimes someone would offer up a piece of land with everything
already set up to live on with no effort and their piece of land got
trashed
by the people who over ran it. Sometimes we just started picking at
each other until we didn't want to live near each other any more. There
were thousands of them, just in the southwest alone.

In Taos NM, people were coming into town so fast that a Commune
Real Estate Office was opened and was instantly busy. For something
like $5000 they would set you up. They advertised : " All you need is ten
people with $500 and we will help you start your commune." People
were running around looking for soulmates with $500 and it was really
working, at least as long as I was there.

=bit of prep needs to happen. I'm curious about how long this
=homelands idea has been gathering steam? I mean in this present
=incarnation.

For several years now at the Nationals there have been councils called
to discuss a perminent Rainbow site. At the Colorado National both
Rainbow Light and I both called for more than one council, nothing
came of them.

This last Gathering(which I couldn't go to) at Oregon(where I really
wanted to go to) had the best turnout so far and some things were
accomplish, including which was the name ' Homelands ' in place of
' perminent Rainbow site ', which is alright with me since it couldn't be
called a Rainbow anything, anyway.

=About this sailboat idea, about six people with 5K a piece and theyd be
=off to...wherever. I don't know how many times Iv'e come to a cliff or
=something in hawaii, and looked over the edge, and down there in this
=perfect little isolated bay, would be a sailboat, cat or tri-maran
=floating lazily. A couple of poeple would be snorkeling around with the
=area all to themselves, just them and the turtles. A private paradise.

Sounds really nice. That's an experience I'd like to have. Like to go
around the world several times in a sailing ship with about eight really
tight friends. Making the money we need by trading and by taking
people for trips.

As far as the Homelands trip is concerned:
I'm seriously interested in getting it together to get a piece of land
close
to the area I'm in now. I'd really be interested in anyone who seriously
would like to get involved to accomplish that. I have some resourses
and time to put into the hat, but nowhere near enough to set the stage
up by myself.

Peace and Love + irb +
