Seneca Software & Solar, Inc.

I am located high in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, near the small rural towns of Nederland and Ward, which are about 20 miles west of Boulder. I am a self-employed consultant with massive experience in designing, programming, building, or managing of engineering projects, especially Open Source Linux projects, or embedded systems. I am also heavily into alternative energy technologies like wind and solar.

As a combination I am currently in the research phase of designing and building various ideas I've had for off-grid housing. Since I own an off-grid house, I'm starting with a sophisticated load controller (Linux & PC-104 based) for alternate powered housing. My goal is to be able to use much smaller and cheaper power production systems, by efficiently utilizing all the excess power to it's fullest possiblities.

At this point I'm heavily into the development of this software, which I've named AbelMon. I'm broken up this project into several phases, and the first product coming out of this work is a standalone GNOME GUI for Trace Inverters. For more details on this software, you can go here.

During the design of my new Solar Lab, I got off on a side project, and wrote GnuAE. GnuAE is an alternate energy system sizing and design software. GnuAE lets the user select the various loads on a system, and then by selecting the various components of the system, calculates the quantity of panels, batteries, wire sizes, etc...

Talking about projects that take over... I've recently started a new project called Gnash, the GNU Flash player. This is a standalone Flash movie player for embedded devices that's also a Mozilla/Firefox plugin.
