This trail song was written at 2 a.m. one morning while sitting
on a frozen
vegetable freezer in a ........ Super Market when I was inspired and
hummed,
and sang it until I had it finished and the curious looks of a stock
boy.
THE BATTLE OF THE SUPER MARKET MONSTER
by LLOYD T. RICH
(MUSIC: THE BATTLE OF NEW ORLEANS)
ONE FINE DAY I TOOK A LITTLE TRIP
ALONG WITH MARY. JANE AND UNCLE ZIP
WE TOOK A LIST OF FOOD WE HAD TO BUY
AND THEN WENT SHOPPING AT A STORE NEARBY.
THEN WE RAN THROUGH THE BEANS
AND WE RAN THROUGH THE PASTA
AND WE RAN THROUGH THE PLACES A SHOPPER WOULDN'T GO
WE RAN SO FAST THAT THE CLERKS COULDN'T CATCH US
FROM THE FROZEN FOOD TO THE VEGTEBALL.
WELL MARY AND JANE WERE TAKEN BY SURPRISE
AS FROM THE FREEZER IT ROSE BEFORE THEIR EYES
IT WAS GREAT BIG AND MIGHTY WHITE
A MOST AMAZING FRIGHTENING SIGHT.
THEN WE RAN THROUGH THE BEANS
AND WE RAN THROUGH THE PASTA
WE RAN THROUGH THE PLACES A SHOPPER WOULDN'T GO
WE RAN SO FAST THAT THE CLERKS COULDN'T CATCH US
FROM THE FROZEN FOOD TO THE VEGTEBALL.
WELLIT HOPPED FROM THE FREEZER AND CHASED US DOWN THE ISLE
SO I GRABBED A BAG OF SUGAR AND TOSSED IT WITH A SMILE
BUT IT FIELDED IT LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE
AND MADE A
AND MADE A SOUND LIKE 'SEND MORE PLEASE'.
THEN WE RAN THROUGH THE BEANS
AND WE RAN THROUGH THE PASTA
WE RAN THROUGH THE PLACES A DHOPPER WOULDN'T GO
WE RAN SO FAST THAT THE CLERKS COULDN'T CATCH US
FROM THE FROZEN FOOD TO THE VEGETABLE.
IT CHASED US ALL TILL THE ICE MELTED DOWN
AND AUNT EDDA INSIDE THE FROST WE FOUND
SHE'D FALLEN IN THE FREEZER AND STAYED THERE OVERNIGHT
BUT WE'LL NEVER FORGET THAT MONSTROUS FRIGHT.
IT WAS A HOAR FROST EXPERIENCE
HEY REAL COOL MONN...STER A BIT
HOW ABBOUT A BITE MON AAAUUUGGHHH....
