Genuine Rainbow Rooted Heros and Heroines in Action

Listening to long talks from many who do little or nothing in terms of
walks, is sometimes depressing. So, this story was uplifting. Although
the action was definately NOT, of course, an offically sanctioned Rainbow
event, many of the primary heros and heroines involved have deep roots in
the Family.

Hope you like the story:

Friday, October 17:

Eight activists were convicted after a two day, nine hour trial on
the charge of ‘obstructing a police officer' for their participation in
the April 3, 1997

blockade of U.S. 95 north of Las Vegas near the Nevada Nuclear Weapons
Test Site. Two other demonstrators were acquitted, while five were found
guilty after pleading ‘no contest' on Thursday, October 16. The thirteen
convicted were each sentenced to making a two hundred dollar donation to
Shundahai Network or providing forty hours of community service to
Shundahai Network.

In a surprise ruling, Justice of the Peace Tony Abbatangelo rejected
Clark County prosecutor Chris Lalli's request for an eight hundred dollar
fine. "It's common knowledge that radioactive materials threaten water,
land and humans," Abbatangelo stated during the trial. At sentencing he
stated that the donations or

community service should be given to the Shundahai Network, a Las Vegas
anti-nuclear organization headed by Western Shoshone Spiritual Leader
Corbin Harney.
