In this year 1997, NASA will launch the last of America's deep space probes.
Ranger 7 and it's pilot, Captain William "Buck" Rogers, will be blown out of
their trajectory into an orbit 1,000 times more vast, and experience temperatures
approaching absolute zero. This orbit will return Buck Rogers to Earth, 500 years
in our future.

Also in the news, on August 29 1997, the Cyberdyne computer systems wiped out 3
billion human lives in a nuclear attack, but no one seemed to notice.
