I don't know about the protocol for this list, so I thought I should be
somewhat polite and introduce myself before lurking. I have gone to a few
Gatherings in my life (national and regional) but have been away for quite
a while. My being away, however, has mostly been merely physical. You
are all in my hearts.
Anyway, I saw the review of Micheal Niven's book in the "Chronical of
Higher Education" and immediately ordered it. Instead of tending to my
Babylonian duties, I spent my weekend reading the book and feeling a bit
Homesick.
