Oh shucks.......I attempted to answer this and it didn't
show up so let me give it another try.
Gatherings occur on public land, if it's for more than
a weekend they are usually held in national forest
occas. bureau of land management areas or even less
frequently in state parks. therefore i doubt that
one will actually happen "in" Louisville, other than
a potluck picnic in the park.
However, the next closest thing that would be "near"
Louisville would be one of these:
Cumberland Family has gathered in southern KY or
northern TN in the yrs 89-95. However they didn't
gather in the 96 or 97.
If they do gather again they have a consensus in
place to gather during the "Full Moon of May."
There are a couple of experienced folks planning on
scouting for the Cumberland that haven't scouted for
that gathering before but have for others.....so the
added energy is much needed and welcomed in the region.
It's hard to say what they will be doing because at
this time no council is known to have happened, nor
is there any word of an upcoming council at present.
A council could still take place between fall and
early spring though! So just stay tuned-in and
turned-on for more up to date info.
Indiana family "Tecumseh Healing Circle" is fairly
new family just getting started last year. It is
unknown if they plan to gather next year or not.
OM(ohio-miami)Valley family gathers in northern
KY and Ohio. They consensed not to talk
about a gathering at their last fall council,
three weeks ago and they won't council again until
March 15........so no plans there at present.
That's the run down for Gatherings lasting longer
than a weekend near Louisville. Sometimes there
are spontaneous "road gatherings" by family that
is living on the road and traveling about the
country. Those are usually not from a local family
focus or council and for that reason are harder to
predict, until they actually happen. Only one
road gathering has happened in KY, that I know of.
If you know of or hear of anything going on in the
Louisville area, I'd love to know.
There will be a potluck picnic in the park
Sunday October 19--Rainbow Afternoon;)
about 10 miles east of downtown Cincinnati.
That's
about an hour or two from you and
folks from Louisville
and Lexington come up on a fairly regular basis.
I've enjoyed some potlucks in the park in Lexington
but haven't heard if any are planned for the fall months.
they are more spontaneous and local.
