| Actually, Sky, in the same OT class, we learned that the original wording
of
| Hebrew said: God made man in OUR image.
| Originally, the Hebrews did look at God as both Mother and Father. You
can
| find it in the texts--in Proverbs, I think it was, God wsa described as
being

line,

Hi Julia,
"... we learned that the original wording of Hebrew said: God made man in
OUR image."
Yes, in English we have singular and plural (one and two or more); however,
in the Hebrew (with reference to the above quote) we find singular, dual,
plural (ie, three or more) and that the word "God" as so used is 1) titleof
office (as President) and that it is of Hebrew plural; hence, the Triune
concept and that in the above reference it was thus God speaking within
Himself...much the same as a husband/wife would speak to each other within
their relationship...this is part of "The Great Mystery".
It is difficult (for me anyway) to see God as totally Spiritual...we have
such a tendancy to place physical attributes nd limitation on our Creator
so as to be able to comprehend The Infinite with our finite
minds....nonetheless, and even though history and societies have generally
attributed a "maleness" (at least in reference) to God there is none; and
yet, there are the attributes of both male and female in a oneness in God
that was imparted into each the male and female...and that only in a good
and proper relationship between a Male and Female can there be the oneness
that manifestly exemplifies the relationship between MAN and God...if the
relatinship between Male and Female suffer then so, inevitably, the
relationship with God suffer and vice versa....

blessings & dreams
