The road to peace

Interesting thread.......Six Up's and guns. Violence breeds more violence,
subsequently, peace breeds more peace.

IMHO, all of us need to remember that the road to peace is littered with
potholes......those "things" that distract us from our peaceful mission.

We need to keep peace and lovelight in our hearts, always....so as to attract
more people, like us, who are on our same mission.

An organization, that I am President of, is Drums Not Guns, dedicated to the
eradication of violence thru the power of percussion. We work with at-risk
children, primarily 5th and 6th graders in after-school programs, to give
them an avenue to rechannel their negative energy into positive energy by
hitting drums [not each other] and by sharing with them the magic of the drum
circle....where each person has a rhythm part to play that makes up the
whole. So far, our program is successful.

Now we need to take this lesson to the next level.....working with at-risk
adults and sharing with them the same message. For when we all work together,
on the road to peace, we can do so much more.

Let's all work together and spread peace, love and joy to everyone we come in
contact with. Love each other the way we want to be loved.

At National, this year, it was a nice to see the Forest Service at our Holy
Day without guns, wasn't it? We must continue reminding them that we are a
peaceful group and continue requesting that FS stop carrying guns, around
Rainbows, and stop the harassment. As Winston Churchill once said, "NEVER!
NEVER! NEVER GIVE UP!" It'd also be good for us to write letters to our
elected officials with the same peaceful message......don't you think?

Go in peace,
Happy Shel
