RAINBOW COMPLAINTS
A traffic-enforcment policy criticized by Rainbow Family followers as
"mass blackmail" was neither unfair nor discriminatory, a federal
prosecuter said. By Thursday, US Forest Service officers had issues 50
citations on forest roads leading to the family's gathering near
Paonia. Those cited had to pay $75 in cash or face arrest and
transport to Grand Junction. The goverment later modified the policy,
but US Attorney Jerry Cooper said those who paid can contest the ticket.
